In Part 9 Pond Construction – Building the Pond Bridge I talked about creating the bridge for the pond. In this post I’m going to talk about finishing the pond construction. In all I would say the pond cost me about $3,000 and 3 months of time to construct before adding water and several more months to finish it up. It was a very rewarding process. There is still some minor things to finish up and I plan to add more rocks to the inside of the pond but the vast majority of the work is completed. Initially I put off adding Koi for 6 months but now I think it will be 2 years before I think about it again. Currently I have snails, shrimp and guppies in the pond. I also have a large variety of plants. Here are pictures of the pond right after it was completed.
The pond edges were very important to hide the liner. Here are pictures of the edges of the pond.
